About

Welcome to the site.  One question you might immediately have is whether or not I’m crazy for my undying love for Dan Cloutier.  The answer is still up for debate, but one thing that is certain is that Clouts is one of my favourite goalies to ever play for Vancouver.  While he wasn’t every fan’s favourite for his lack of playoff success, he had as much heart, grit and feistyness as anyone who played for the Canucks.  For that he was exciting and a pleasure to watch in a Canucks (and other teams) uniform.

What I hope to do here is provide insightful analysis on all things Canucks including transactions, game recaps, prospects etc.  In addition, there will be discussion on general hockey related topics from some of the other fantastic leagues across North America whenever I feel like it.  Of course we’ll get into the upcoming Winter Olympic Games right here in Vancouver.  Be sure to follow ‘cloutier4vezina’ on twitter because you know you want to.

Now a little about me;  my earliest memories of being a Canucks fan date back to about the 1991-92 season where the Canucks were a solid team that couldn’t hack it in the playoffs (I guess that still rings true to this day.) I, like many other in my grade 4 class in 1994, spent our days in the spring hoping the Canucks would defeat the Rangers in the Stanley Cup finals. During recess there would be intense street hockey games to get us prepared for the game that would await that night.

Fast forward to 2009 and I am one of the lucky few that are able to have season tickets to the Canucks. This season will mark the fifth year that I have had season tickets and unfortunely the Canucks have missed the playoffs in two of the past four years. Please don’t blame me for the bad karma.
